Updates

The app checks for a new version at startup and then once every 24 hours, downloads the installer in the background and offers to install it when the installer has been downloaded and verified.

An update is offered if:

• the release information is signed with the Profit Cloud release key (Ed25519), whose public key is built into the app;
• the link to the installer leads to the Profit Cloud download domain;
• the file's SHA-256 matches the signed one;
• the version is newer than the installed one.

Otherwise, the update is not offered.

The "Update" window — the number of the downloaded version and the "Restart now" and "Later" buttons; closing the window or Esc is the same as "Later".

"Restart now" — the app closes (in no more than 15 seconds), the installer installs the new version over the previous one and launches the app; the passcode is asked for as at every startup. Trading sessions on the server are not closed unless "Disarm levels on exit" is enabled (see "Trading → Levels → Running on the server").

"Later" — the installer stays on the computer; the offer comes up again at the next startup or daily check, without a new download.

Each update is a full installer: before unpacking, it clears the program folder and does not touch the data folder.

Manually — download the installer in the bot and run it: the app installs over the existing one; settings and accounts are kept.
